You mention a splitter supplied by "King"... How does it keep the HH from feeding TX into the antenna output of the #1 Com ? I would think (in my most assuredly non-engineering schooled mind) that this input would fry the transistors/diodes in the output section of com # 1. While you are most likely using the HH due to a com 1 problem, that com 1 problem may be something as simple as a lack of input voltage due to a poor/broken connection. After using the HH, would you not be guaranteeing yourself a more serious problem w/ com 1? I suppose that you could purposely displace com 1 from its rack with a few twists of a handy screwdriver or hex key strategicly placed in the cockpit,(and yes, some of us do this), to detach the antenna coupler, but it seems like an extra step to add to the workload of the pilot when you are more likely to have other distractions. As a relatively lower time pilot, I realize that I may just be missing a critical enzyme from my genetic code for not seeing the obvious, but I've learned a great deal from the more experienced by asking. I will not be offended if your response indicates this to be a stupid question so long as I go away more enlightened, so ..."let er' rip", and 'thank you' in advance! With my respect for all those that share their knowlege through this forum, and warm regards to all. ...Jeffrey B.
