Hi
Regarding straight edges and wet lay-ups.
What would be the best way to do a lay-up say on the flap channel and still
clamping it to get a straight edge. Will clamping not force out all the
epoxy and leave a dry lay-up.
Any ideas ??

[When I started fighting the battle with the wavy trailing edges on my
stab (in order to determine a straight centerline for the hinges) I
added 1-BID inside and outside of each trailing edge and clamped them
between packaging-tape-protected pieces of AL angle. I used spring clamps
only for this process so I couldn't apply too much pressure and dry out
the layups. Worked fine. I would imagine that you'd need to be careful
with total pressure if the layup is getting thick (say 3-BID or more). I
still think using spring clamps will work just fine, but just use as
many as required to remove any bow or waviness. You might want to pre-
straighten your edges with a little heat from a heat gun and your angle
iron before actually applying your BIDs. This way you won't need so much
pressure on the assembly when you do the layups over it. Just my $0.02.
