The egt is lower and the engine is more efficient with 8.5 CR=20 pistons.  Again I ask for data.
 
Paul, I don't have any data.   But at APS they said they = had=20 measured the effect and it's about 100 degrees lower exhaust temp using = 8.5:1=20 vs. 7.5:
