I also remember the discussion at last years Redmond fly-in.
And, like several others, I will have to readjust our summer travel plans which
have already been made.
I have been to every factory fly-in since they have been located in
Redmond (1990 or 1991, can't remember already). As a west coaster I have
benefited greatly with their location in Redmond. Flyers in the
mid-west and east are probably happy about the change in venue. But
for me, I will not be making the 1,361 nm (direct measurement) flight this year
or any other year that it is in Texas, especially in October.
I question "they ought to be able to draw around 125." from the 2006 news
article. It would be nice, but not likely in my opinion.
So, someone can have my "primo" parking space I always get at the
fly-in. Kimbra was going to charge me $50 for it this year
anyway.
Since there will not be a Labor Day event, I think we will
have our Medford fly-in in August this year.
