we placed the vert fin extension while building as it was the only thing available at the time.  it seems to add some proportioanality to the plane as with the turbine i think the vert fin is small appearing with the long nose.  also seems in theory to strengthen the narrowest part of the fuselage.  as far as flying differences hard to know as we never flew it without the vert stab extender.  next time i talk to pete i'll ask him what he thinks as he is the only one yet to fly my plane.

pete z however strongly recommended the strakes and i just placed an order from mike custard to be placed prior to paint.  mike basically told me that he is sorry to say as i bought the vert fin extender from him but that i "probably wasted my money" on the vert fin extender now that the strakes are available.

there's always a better wheel and perhaps always a sucker(me) who will buy it but hopefully for some benefit.
