Kevin. I'm not sure I would have cut a notch in that trim tab arm, it probably weakened it and it will crack over time. Here's what I did after researching all of this on the LML and other resources. a) I ran the two clevises together, they still were too long. b) I cut about 1/8" off the end of both clevises, ah, not they were about the right length c) I put the motor in, hooked up the clevises, ran the motor stop to stop - it hit ever so slightly on the trim tab arm d) I took a file and put a bevel on the edge of the notch on one of the clevises so that it didn't bind. I really didn't take much in the grand scheme of things. Hope this helps. I also think that Don sent you the Legacy Builders forum links with my descriptions of when I actually did the work.
