I have moved the pump three times and found that the only way I can avoid fuel starvation when changing tanks is to put the fuel pump under the floor boards on the co-pilot side. This means putting the pump on its side, but it has been working great for two years. Since I moved it to the lower location, I have had no incidents of fuel starvation.
