Richard,
The trick appears to be to get the pump
inlet as low as possible, with as few restrictions and bends in the inlet line.
Remember – the pump sucks and there is not much pressure from the tanks
due to the low wing design.
You should avoid 90 elbows, as they are
very restrictive. Several people have run ½ inch flexible(?) SS braided hose to
the fuel selector inputs and “hard” line from the selector out
directly forward to the pump inlet. It’s not as critical on the outlet
side of the pump, but avoid restrictions wherever you can.

Looking for pros and cons of different locations for the
fuel pump.
a) Manual
specified location on co-pilot side fuselage
b) Between the
exhaust tunnel and the nose wheel tunnel on co-pilot side floor.
I would think it would be quieter, but warmer on the floor.
