Putting aside for a moment the topic of why the Legacy crashed, I'm left wondering why one would take a passenger on a first flight. This accident unfortunately reinforces the reasons it is not allowed.
I'm sure some will argue that you could take someone as required crew, and perhaps there are potential benefits later in a test program to take an extra set of hands and eyes. But this seems a tough argument to make for a first flight in an aircraft such as this.
