I managed to cook my concorde rg24 during it's first couple months, apparently by having it on and off a car (okay big honking truck) battery charger. I've read about how a/c batteries are finicky and everything but, this is pretty underwhelming. Meanwhile my cheezy pair of 12v dry batteries is doing just fine. I'm wondering if there's a really good reason NOT to buy dry batteries instead of the usual aircraft stuff. Colyn [Lots of experimental folks going with Odyssey batteries. They're marketed as "dry cell" batteries, but in reality they aren't dry, they use AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) technology to keep the electroyte immobile, so they can't spill out, can be operated upside-down, etc, etc, etc. They deliver huge cranking power, are far more tolerant of charging procedures, and can endure deep cycling better than most "wet" batteries (or so they claim.) Check them out at http://www.odysseyfactory.com/why.htm, as there are lots of questions answered there. <Marv>
