This is a disappointing chain of events. I recall when Bill designed his
speed brake. He had a great idea and he put a tremendous amount of work
into the project developing what seemed to be a high quality product. The
reason for the need was that Precise Flight only had the cable pull brakes
and they were less than satisfactory in the IVP. Bill's invention was the
ideal replacement for Precise Flight and it was the only alternative.
Customers were very happy with his brake and orders were streaming in.

Shortly after Bill's success with the product, Precise Flight came out with
a speed brake that ripped off Bill's idea and I think they cut a deal with
Lancair so that their product was offered but not Bill's from KCI if my
memory serves. It wasn't long before Bill's orders subsided and what
promised to be a good company went back to a mom and pop deal.

I don’t know what is wrong with the brakes that are mentioned in the related
posts, but in the past, Bill was very responsive with service requests and
he was continuing to improve design as time went on. I never bought speed
brakes so I have no vested interest one way or the other. In addition, the
comments in my posting are generated out of my memory - there may be some
distortions of fact therefore.

It's painful to see what can happen to many us on both sides the marketplace
when a good idea and hard work gets rewarded this way. Where are you Bill?
Can you shed more light on what's going on?

Regards,
John Barrett
