Did you get forged pistons instead of
cast?
Did you get piston coatings added?
Did you get valve seats concentric to the
guides?
If ALL else is equal, the 10 to 1 compression ratio
will make more hp and will improve the fuel economy in an IO550 over the stock
C/R. In my opinion you did not trade down on anything from a stock motor
unless you did not get the Ferrari red paint.<grin> If you asked for
the above stuff and did not get it, then I'm on your side.

I don't know about everyone else,
but I like to get what I paid for.
Without the added horsepower, what's the point, a nice
paint job?
In my opinion I traded allot for
that horsepower claim.
