[LML] Engine Dyno

 - Are you sure you are getting 370 hp?  Who cares, it is what it is.  In my opinion you made a wise choice in going with 10 to 1 pistons.  This opinion is based on 1000's of hours running engines on a dyno.

- Do the recent Reno race results support the claim?  Is there a Reno class where your engine runs?  If you were referring to the Sport Class, those engines are not in the same zip code as yours and the Sport results I have seen indicate those "California" engines are fast.  You know, for over forty years,  I have heard people tell me about their 1000 hp small block Chevy with a "full race cam".  I designed and developed engines for General Motors for 15 years and managed a Power Train R&D group.  Can someone please tell me what a "full race cam" is?  Do you get my drift.

Now for another controversial topic - engines...

I just watched my engine get dyno tested.  It is a normally aspirated IO-550N EXP with 10:1 compression and magnetos.  It made 325 hp at 2700 RPM.

There is an engine builder in California that claims 370 hp.  I have a question for those who have this engine:

    - Are you sure you are getting 370 hp?
    - Have you seen the dyno test?
    - Do the recent Reno race results support the claim?

I have been lead to believe that the answers to the above questions are: no, no and no.

Flame suit on,
