Ok, I know I said it was time to bring this discussion to an end, but I couldn't resist allowing these last few posts to go through. In particular, I believe both Matt and Jeff have summed it up pretty well. Please, no more. (Quoted from emails complaining about where this thread has gone.)

Ron,
I hope I don't screw up, too. That's why I do not screw around in airplanes.
This guy is very lucky he did not kill himself and his passengers. His
actions were grossly negligent. I sincerely hope the FAA takes action
against his
pilot certificates.
The whole country got to go through a similar circus show this summer when
Corey Lidle was killed in a plane crash in New York when he and his flight
instructor flew a perfectly good (Cirrus) airplane into the side of a
building.
In case you were asleep for about a month or off this planet at the time,
that
accident now limits your ability to fly around Manhattan.
If this pilot had killed an Olympic gold medalist we would have heard much
more than we have thus far. Every dumb pilot trick causes the rest of us
pilots
to be scrutinized by non pilots, to be restricted by more government
regulation, to be charged more for insurance premiums, etc. This accident
was dumb,
plain and simple.
I am not "mr. perfect" but I sure know stupid when I see it.

Jeff Edwards
