Ok, I know I said it was time to bring this discussion to an end, but I 
couldn't resist allowing these last few posts to go through.  In particular, I 
believe both Matt and Jeff have summed it up pretty well.  Please, no more.

  If this pilot had killed an Olympic gold medalist we would have heard much
  more than we have thus far. Every dumb pilot trick causes the rest of us

  to be scrutinized by non pilots, to be restricted by more government
  regulation,  to be charged more for insurance premiums, etc. This accident
was dumb,
