Thanks for all the info re: heating my unhangared, not near electricity,
plane.
Anything that requires I wait an hour once I get to the airport isn't going
to cut it. If I am showing up for an early flight, the last thing I want to
do is sit in the car for an hour while I run some contraption.
I used the thermocube block in the past - it worked great when I was in a
hangar, and recently I have been known to pull my plane up to the FBO the
night before a flight to plug in an extension cord. The management didn't
like that too much.
I'm now envisioning a 30 lb battery, hooked to a cord and a 12volt heat
strip. I can put it on a timer to start 3 hours before I plan to leave.
I'm not an electrical expert - but I think that will work.
