Yes the equipment will change - even if they do
not merge
That was a true statement but I don't think it
sheds much light on the future. WSI needed more viable satellite service
so they contracted with the only viable alternative that didn't ALREADY have
it's own weather service. Now that alternative does have its own
weather service and meanwhile, from what I can tell, WSI's onboard weather
department is down to a skeleton crew until they were to surface from the
previously scheduled Sirius changeover.
Personally I am in the dark about where this merger
is going. I assume cutting cost while at least maintaining the same
customer base is the goal. How does radio spectrum play
here?
