“Man, that's amazing. How do you screw up a roll in a Lear?”
Answer:
The same
way newbies screw up rolls in any airplane… by failing to maintain
aileron deflection and allowing the nose to drop. Everyone can “fly”
a roll in their mind, but the physical sensations are usually overwhelming the
first time. Speed builds up, pilot freaks out, then pulls too hard.
The airframe might or might not withstand the ensuing loads, and the pilot
might or might not regain control before impacting terrain.
To
state the obvious:
·
NEVER
attempt aerobatics without prior instruction.
·
NEVER
attempt aerobatics in an craft that was not designed for it.
·
NEVER
attempt aerobatics below a safe altitude (1500AGL is the legal minimum, but not
nearly enough for some acft and some maneuvers)
