Question for the Turboprop gang:

The Epic LT uses a P&W PT6-67 (the same engine the much larger Pilatus PC-12 uses). I'm told EPIC is getting used engines from decomissioned Beech Starships.

The Malibu Jetprop uses a PT6-35 or -21.

The Meridian uses a PT6-42.

The D-Jet uses the Williams FJ-33 fanjet engineand claims only 6gal/hr at idle. Cruise is about 45-48gal/hr.

Has anyone built (or is building) a Lancair IVP turboprop with a P&W PT6 engine? The -34 is also 750 SHP (same as the Walter 601E) but produces more HP at altitude. Its fuel specifics are about 10% better and it weighs about 100lbs less.

Inquiring minds want to know...
