Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" ; format="flowed" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-ELNK-Trace: edc6c9c2805b57e3d780f4a490ca69563f9fea00a6dd62bc271311bcdb36a0d3e8f7bbc32a6a8e6c350badd9bab72f9c350badd9bab72f9c350badd9bab72f9c X-Originating-IP: 70.44.60.244 Question for the Turboprop gang: The Epic LT uses a P&W PT6-67 (the same engine the much larger Pilatus PC-12 uses). I'm told EPIC is getting used engines from decomissioned Beech Starships. The Malibu Jetprop uses a PT6-35 or -21. The Meridian uses a PT6-42. The D-Jet uses the Williams FJ-33 fanjet engineand claims only 6gal/hr at idle. Cruise is about 45-48gal/hr.  Has anyone built (or is building) a Lancair IVP turboprop with a P&W PT6 engine? The -34 is also 750 SHP (same as the Walter 601E) but produces more HP at altitude. Its fuel specifics are about 10% better and it weighs about 100lbs less. Inquiring minds want to know...
