Are you saying stainless lines are not fire shielded or just that fire shielding is additional weight beyond the stainless?   or that stainless is a form of fire shielding?
Colyn,

Fire shielding was added after I built the lines and it is additional weight but none-stainless lines would have been fire shielded too.  Also, I have seen pre-built lines with beautiful integrated silicon fire shield.  I believe that all fluid carrying flex lines in the engine compartment should be shielded.
