Colyn, Fire shielding was added after I built the lines and it is additional weight but none-stainless lines would have been fire shielded too. Also, I have seen pre-built lines with beautiful integrated silicon fire shield. I believe that all fluid carrying flex lines in the engine compartment should be shielded.
