Johnson, MD" : I have read with interest the pros and cons of putting anything regarding checklists on the ether, and can appreciate both sides. I tend to remember all the help I received from many of you years ago via snailmail, phone, and personal conversations--help for which I will be ever grateful, and never able to fully repay. With that said, I have attached in WordPerfect format the normal ops checklist I have used over the last 10 years. I started with the bones provided by Lancair, and have modified it to my specific aircraft and flying situation over time... This is not meant to be used for your aircraft--only you can set it up the way you want it, and the mental exercise of logically thinking how best to operate your aircraft is extremely valuable and time well spent. It is not perfect. You may disagree with some points, and you may be right. If it gets you thinking, then mission accomplished. If you like to cut and paste to come up with your own perfect list, feel free. Happy creating. BTY, I printed this out on 8x5.5" paper, and had it laminated and bound at Kinkos. Also, if you try to open it in Word, the formatting gets all messed up, so try to get WordPerfect to see it as it is supposed to look. Cheers Douglas W. Your checklist file is too large to include with normal LML email so I've abducted it and made it available on the website, which includes an appropriate disclaimer (I think). Same place as the checklist presented by John Schroeder last week. ]
