Grayhawk is old and his memory is fading fast - There are new ways and forms
 - to wit:

 _http://forms.faa.gov/forms/faa8130-12.pdf_
 (http://forms.faa.gov/forms/faa8130-12.pdf)

Note that the Approved date in the upper right hand corner is 9/30/2007
(hmmmmm, must be pre-approved).  Or, look at the date in the lower left
 corner
(4-03) that makes it relatively recent.  In any event, notice that  the
certification allows for "person(s)" to have "fabricate and assembled" (sic)
 the
named aircraft "....for my (their) education or recreation.  I (we)  have
 records...".

Grayhawk built his Lancair last century, before the internet.  He did  it in
the dark, just like growing mushrooms and he was fed the same  feed.

So, Any entity can register as an owner, any person or group of persons can
build it and only one person can be the named repairman for it.

Grayhawk will now go preen his ruffled feathers.

PS:  Why don't you guys go search the internet yourselves (EAA, AOPA,  NTSB,
GOOGLE, etc.)?  It is a good exercise for negotiating  through your future
 life.
