Good point about drilling holes in a key structural component without getting an expert opinion.  Us ES guys have drilled and tapped holes in the sides of the fork to attach the wheel pant already.  So I guess I assumed a tiny hole in the top wouldn't be an issue.  The saying do not ASSUME, or you'll make an ASS of U and ME, applies.
