All,
After reading this again after it appeared, I felt bad as I thought more
about the hard work of the folks at Columbia and their dedication to
making a great airplane. I didn't use good judgment when I wrote this.
It didn't intend it to hurt anybody, I was trying to make light of
difficult circumstances, but it wasn't kind.
This AD is a real bummer. The Therma wing materials and devices are
great products and we are really fortunate to have this technology
available to us. The Columbia is an awesome airplane. I really hope
they can figure out a good way to fix this at a minimal cost and
headache.
It seems the Columbia has had its share of setbacks. The folks at
Columbia Aircraft & Lancair are real pioneers. We are really fortunate
to have them. Pioneers take lots of arrows when innovating. I didn't
mean to launch one of my own. I apologize for my remarks, I hope you
can get things fixed and get this behind you. You have a great
airplane.
Best Regards,
Kevin

Hey! You mean we don't have to paint flames on our wings anymore to
make them look cool?
What a great de-icing strategy. Just light the wings on fire! Look
Ma!, no ice! Let's just use the fuel that's already in the tanks.
That
stuff burns pretty good.... Incorperate that with the weeping wing
concept... Good stuff 'mate!
