I recently tried a "noble" experiment. I have a ten year "old" fast build
kit, and after examining a "new" fast build wing at Oshkosh, I inquired of
the factory as to the viability of buying FB Flaps & Ailerons and mounting
them on my "old" FB wings for a "jumpstart". Since I had not done anything
to my aft spar, it was the consensus that it would work. I ordered the flaps
and ailerons, and scheduled a week in the Lancair Build Shop. Due to
circumstances beyond my control, we were unable to complete the installation
of the flaps & ailerons during that week, so I brought my wings back home,
where I continue to work.

Here is part of my dilemma: My manual (never updated for even the "old" FB
kit), assumes you are building the flaps and ailerons as you go. Since most,
if not all, of what I am trying to do is already completed in the "new" FB
kits, what does the current manual (Chapters 6, 7 & 8) contain? If anyone
could send a copy of any or all chapters to me it would be appreciated.

Also, my wing bottom skins still have the "inspection panel" section that
fit under the flaps. This will not work with the new flap track
configuration. My concern is how to determine where to trim the bottom wing
skin in the flap area?

Since I plan to put fuel in the three inboard aft bays, does anyone have the
supplement to the manual for this installation? I have already fabricated
fiberglass tubes for the aileron torque tube. Questions about fuel transfer
passages and vent passages, flapper yes or no in fuel spar in inboard bay,
etc.

Are there pre-molded covers available for the forward side of the aft spar
in the flap bellcrank areas?

The pre-molded flap track mounting blocks have "chicken bolts" thru the aft
spar. Are there any considerations for the location of these bolts? (They
included a small fiberglass cover for the nut on the forward face of the
spar)

One final request. I am considering the FB Door and FB Vertical Stab/Rudder.
Does anyone have the supplements for either or both of these?
