Kevin,
Aside from the Legacy molds, plans and construction manual, remember
that the horizontal stabilizer is an upside-down wing that must exert a down
force (nose up) against the nose down pitching moment of the main wing
(even though it is providing lift - nothing is free).
Anyway, would you build a wing without camber? Should the top side be
relatively flat? What does the bottom of the main wing look like?
On my wee Lancair, the elevator tapers on both sides. I
think of down elevator as reflexing the upside-down wing to reduce
drag. Of course, there are many that believe my thinking on any
subject to be suspect. I must leave now as the white coated squad is
coming to administer a higher dose of anti-ADD meds and some hallucinatory
suppressants with an interesting mix of mood-altering serenity-inducing
herbal supplements.
