Kevin,

I think what you are calling a "tear drop shape" is a description of
"reflex" on these control surfaces. Yes, you want reflex. You do not want a
straight taper.

The trailing edges should also be "squared off" for better effectiveness.

Scott, or anyone that can answer this;

On the Control Surfaces, (Like the Elevators), should the shape taper from
the Horizontal Stab. to the trailing edge straight, or should it be more
tear drop, wing shaped bowing down in the middle?
