Joe, there is a third caveat.  Do not let your paint shop paint the
antenna!  I taped mine and told the shop not to paint it, but the white
blob on the pretty green underside disturbed their sense of Feng Shui so
they pulled the tape and made it a pretty metallic green.  Insight was
happy to sell me a new antenna and it worked fine after that.
