Re: the air conditioning discussion. A/C is not for
everybody. It has a weight and drag penalty no matter where the system comes
from.
I fly in the southwest and for me it's a necessity.
I think that most of us that have been around for a while would upon reflection
agree that
in most instances mixing automotive equipment in an
airplane environment is a mistake and usually a costly one. I have installed the
unit
from Airflow Systems, (airflow-systems.com). I
investigated the cost of an automotive system and when the COMPLETE numbers were
considered the difference wasn't worth the risk and
unknowns of the hot rod units. Bill Genevro has been doing this for 20 years. He
has a
wealth of knowledge and is very willing to help.
He's also one of the nicest guys in aviation you would ever want to meet. My two
cents...
