However, because = of all the talk about the tail, and wanting to increase my hinge moment, = I increased the elevator chord and added 3 inches on each side of the = stab just outboard of a shortened balance extension. I added 1 1/2" to = the trailing edge of the elevator inboard, tapering to 3/4" outboard. I = also added balance weights to the center of the elevator inside the = fuselage to offset the shortened end weights.
