I would like to give
a favorable plug for a relatively new shop in Northern Florida that is
specializing in repairs, paint and bodywork for Lancairs. The company is
Trickworx, located at the Kay Larkin airport in Palatka, identifier 28J.
After 9 years of flying, I had them do some cosmetic touchup and bodywork on my
IV-P. They were very professional and did an outstanding job (that is a
lot from me!). I have waited several months after the work before posting
this, just to see how everything held up, and the job still looks impeccable.
They can do not only
paint and body work, but also have an A&P and avionics person in the shop.
Their prices were reasonable and they worked around my schedule--they aim to
please... They even gave me a photo CD at the end of the job documenting each
step of the job.
JJ used to work for
the St. Augustine Lancair Columbia dealership before heading out to start his
own shop, and Bud Clark is a real artist and perfectionist. If you would
