Mr. Kay:
Why don't you read my response again. Obviously you misunderstood a great
portion of what I wrote. The "D" engine puts out a higher bleed air
temperature than does the "E" engine. That is because of where the bleed port
happens to be on each of those engines. While an intercooler may suffice for
the "E", a flow pack would certainly be a better alternative for the "D".....
any "D"! I did not suggest that the air FROM the flowpack to the cabin would
be warmer.
You continue to refer to me as either a liar or as you have additionally
commented, "disingenuous." I don't know you. I am not aware of having ever
spoken to you. Perhaps as others on the LML, you seek to demean LancairInternational, Inc., to enhance your own economic interests. Are you in some
business that supports the Diemach or other turbines? What is the reason for
your venomous response? Isn't it enough to know that you have the option, nay
the RIGHT, to buy the engine of your choice? So do it! Buy an engine which
will have (according to Walter Engines) no factory support. We do offer
support for the Walter engine and will continue to do so. Whoever said
otherwise needs to call me at 541-350-2901! I have answered your concerns
about the ability to use bleed air in a "D" engine and I need say nothing
more.
All engines will have problems. That is a fact! I seek to reduce the degree
of potential failure by having my customers buy factory new, remanufactured or
rebuilt engines, using factory parts. I don't like modifications as they have
the potential to reduce TBO and reliability. Others may argue the point but I
want to continue to see my customers come back to each and every airshow and
Lancair event. When a failure of an engine does take place it may have
disasterous consequences. How many accident scenes have you visited? How many
lawsuits have you had to defend against?
I invite you to speak with Peter Zaccagnino regarding the alleged overtempincident to which you refer His phone number is 908-391-2001. I am sure that
Pete will be able to correct your misunderstanding.
