BUT....I wonder if I've backed myself into a corner...For prop selection that is, so I figured I'd see what others thought. A little background first. I'm building a FG Legacy in Carbon and will hang an IO-550 on the front of it. I also have dual alt/batt in 24v and am planning the batteries to go behind the seats (one Concord at 29.5lbs and one B&C backup at 10lbs). The MT prop comes in at 53lbs and the hartzell comes in at 73lbs, so there is a 20lbs advantage to the MT.... BUT.... What kind of challenges am I going to have with W&B. I know some of the Legacy builders have moved their original installation of batteries from the FW back to behind the seats to improve the W&B so maybe I'll be ok if I go to the MT with that lack of 20lbs up front? Thots? As for the gear weight issue, It probably doesn't make that much difference (other than being a bit lighter overall). The mains are pretty much over the CG, and the nose gear on the FG has the same components as the RG with the exception of the gear doors, but it probably makes up for that weight as it uses the ES nose strut. So, I'm curious of what you think about W&B in my configuration, and also for those that are or have flown behind the new Scimitar 3 blade for the Legacy, what your perceptions were? Thanks in advance, Alan
