I have already posted in the past
that I am part of developing the Envoy,
I did not recall reading any such thing. Instead, I knew you as the "throttle
quadrant guy" So I did a search in the LML archives to refresh my memory.
In your very first post on Sept. 29, 2005, you stated that having built
Lancairs and Aerocomps, you wanted a plane with Lancair's looks and Aerocomp's
utility and thus the Envoy. Were you developing the airplane or had a deposit
on an early kit? In a later post you mentioned OP technologies and how you
had chosen them for "our" Envoy. From those two mentions, I doubt anyone
can jump to the conclusion that you were part of the team developing the
Envoy.
I stated that I have no current involvement
with the Phoenix, which has nothing to do with the Envoy - why would I mention
the one when I was referring to the other? Beside the Envoy, I have commercial
interests in other ventures, including aviation. Frankly, I saw no need
to disclose this - again.
I am not a lawyer or a politician, but I know some of the tricks of the trade
well enough to spot them when they are used. You never stated that you did
not have any involvement with the Envoy. However, you went out of your way
to bring in the fact that you did not have any involvement with the Phoenix.
This created the false impression hat you did not have a competing commercial
interest while also putting you in the position where you could state that
you did not actually lie. Therefore I am not calling you a liar, but rather
pointing to your lack of integrity in trying to create a false impression
to cloak you commercial interests.
I can relate to the position you are in by having involvement and commercial
interests in the field -- I have a strong and long standing involvement with
Chelton Flight Systems, since my company does all the hardware design for
them. That puts me in a position to know about design issues with avionics
and point out problems with competitors' products. While I strive to be
objective and rise above my biases, I am sure biases do color my opinions.
Therefore, whenever I opine about any competitor's product, I always disclose
my commercial involvements and let the reader decide if they choose to take
me seriously as someone experienced in the field, or disregard me as being
too biased to have a fair opinion.
Regards,
Hamid
