I had the same thing happen with
the safety wired bolts on my ES's nose strut. I just tightened the bolts
back up and re-safety wired them. They hold a piece in place on the inside
of the strut that stays stationary as a collar moves back and forth over
it. This is where the shimmy damping takes place. I had a little bit
of fluid seepage out of the bolts, but not a significant amount . I did
get a larger fluid leak about that time out of the bottom of the strut, which I
have no way of knowing if it was related. Due to that leak, I sent my
strut back for a rebuild.
