Upon checking the bolts, I found them, uhh, not snug. I removed the safety wire and tightened the bolt head about 1-2 flats and re-wired them. There was no indication of seepage after the last flight and once the bolts were tightened. The strut was rebuilt by Lancair in 1999 and last serviced with oil and nitrogen in February 2005. Hmmmmm, how did safety-wired bolts loosen a bit over a 6 year period? In any event, just something else to check on the next annual.
