I go to fly for
the first time in just under three months yesterday –brought CZJ back
from Adelaide to Point Cook.
Had to have a bulk strip due non ferrous
metals in the oil filter, (no damage found).
Had Infinity grips fitted with new electric
pitch and revamped aileron and flap operation.
Last year while away OS ( howdy Sue, Bill
and Scott) had the CHT problems addressed. They reformed the cowl inlets and
opened them up by 1” in diameter.
That worked and brought the hottest CHT
(#4) down to 390 df.
Well, coming back yesterday, I flew at cloud
base 3500 feet ( only VFR these days) at 25 square and had 178 KIAS with the
hottest CHT (#4) maxing out at 354 df, OAT 17 degrees C.
Average GS was 204 kts.
I’m gonna have another bulk strip
next year and see if I can get more!!!!
