Maybe the reason is that the data from the antenna is digital in the strikefinder. I have skin mapped for both units and there are no really good spots on the LIV. The tip of the horizontal stabs are fairly quiet. I ended up mounting just aft of the landing gear doors on the belly. PS I prefer the stormscope display but the strike finder works and that is what is really important. I would like the strikefinder better if the strikes stayed on the display longer.
