Andres,
I can relate more to your AOA contribution than I can with John's
abrasive post. John explains his point of view with a hammer approach
(military style). Terrance also makes a readable case for an
AOA.
I have no military pilot experience (am envious), although I have
multiple hours in Hueys in Viet Nam. I would be considered a low
time pilot by military standards. I have flown my Lancair without the
AOA, then with the AOA. I like it. For me, I feel it helps me
"one notch" more than without it to be a better pilot. Hopefully, in the
future, in a pinch, it will give me a better advantage.
I am a Technical Counselor for an EAA chapter. I speak of the
"nothing to lose by installing an AOA" with builders I am involved
with. They decide whether to install and use it.
