I believe I saw a post that Steve Lorentzen (formerly of Lancair and
Kim's husband) now operating as http://www.aerodynamicsllc.com took
credit for the rebuild after the spectacular pitot/static incident.  I
am surprised this hasn't been confirmed in the last few days.

Posted for "Alan K. Adamson" <aadamson@highrf.com>:

Well, seeing as I was the one that posted the info on the Vans forum
(yeah,
I hang out there, always good information), I figured I needed to
respond.
If I'm not mistaken, Ron posted a note to the LML last year
sometime....
Title was something about "Phoenix return from the ashes" or some
such.
Anyway, He was able to reuse the canopy, instrument panel, firewall
forward,
  one wing, etc.

I'm pretty sure he posted pictures of it in raw carbon (no body work),
but I
don't know what the current status is.  I talked to him last summer
and
while it was flyable, it still was not back to its original pristine
form.

I recently tried emailing the address in the builders log and it was
bounced, so if anyone has contact info, it might be nice to see how
they are
doing.  Perhaps for those that are flying, it would be fun to stage an
intervention :) - Fly out - to where they are.... Midwest if memory
serves
me correctly.  I know they gave lots to the community until the
accident,
was glad no-one was hurt, but they probably need a little support
returned
from those that were in awe of the
  "stars and strips" :)
