 Consider adding one or more shims between the end of the landing gear
 leg--the anodized aluminum part bolted to the end--and the axle. I used an
 extra 3/8" unit on my plane and a 1/2" shim on Jim White's. The Lancair
 parts folks used to have these in stock. You'll need some longer bolts to
 mount the axle to the gear leg after you make this mod.
 
 The problem with our clearances was that the gearbox was not mounted
 absolutely squarely in the fuselage (done at Lancair before we got the kit).
 By the time I discovered this problem, this turned out to be the
 easiest/best fix. We also had to "dish out" the gear doors a bit as part of
 this fix.
