The old rule about 75% power at full
throttle at 7500'-8000' with a normally aspirated engine is only true for
slower airplanes. If you're getting good ram pressure recovery, the
75% power altitude for a TAS of 200 mph is 9500', and at 250 mph TAS, it's
10,500'. We're actually getting more power because of our higher speed than
we originally thought we were getting!
