Joe,
You really have no choice but to mount the batteries aft. You need them
there for the weight and balance. You need to put as much stuff behind
the batteries as possible. IE starter contactors, elt antennas, etc.
You will still be nose heavy. I land with full aft elevator input with
the same configuration as you but with no A/C. I have the large
Mountain High o2 system with the bottle under the baggage compartment
floor. I also keep a a tool kit, aircraft cover, extra oil, and any
baggage as far aft in the baggage compartment as possible.
