I plan to use Jeffco Fuel Tank Sealant since it should be resistant to Hyd.
Fluid, Solvents and moisture. Now all I have to do is test its adhesion to
the Zolotone in the one wheel well I have already coated. I would much
rather have a durable, impermeable coating than the best cosmetic finish.
I will also coat the inside belly and areas near the hyd. pump and brakes to
ease cleanup, prevent fluid soak and avoid potential delamination problems
when the inevitable spill occurs. Steve Colwell
[I've visited quite a few LIV projects over the years, and all of them
have had their fuselage floors painted with Jeffco tank sealant for just
the reasons you mentioned. I've been planning on doing the belly pan
and bottom of the gear wells on my project as well... seems like the most
prudent thing to do in this regard. <Marv> ]
