I modified the oil cooler door for a complete seal and still see temps in the 140 range when it is -25C at altitude. Twice this year I had the oil cooler congeal when it was -45C at altitude with partial oil pressure loss (once where the prop governor quit working), so basing a heater on the oil cooler discharge wont help when you need it the most. I tried that as a fix for the lousy factory heat system on my non pressurized IV, but gave up once the oil temp issues were noted. Michael Smith
