I have a Lycoming IO-320 D1D engine which was an O-320 D1G, pickled for a few years and I bought it for $2800.00 in about 1993. A mechanic friend overhauled it for me with the "H" pistons but with the "Cermicrome" cylinders. All four cylinders failed compression test at or near 500 hours (broken compression ring) and were replaced with the "Cerminil" process. The ECI company was very helpful with warranty work. Engine performance since then has been fine. I add a quart of oil about each 20 hours and now with about 1200 hours an the TACH. George
