Stan, your description of the problem is not cutting it :o)
Are you having false echos, or no echos when there is lightning.
If you are having false echos, be aware that any bad connection(s) in the a/c will cause them. Even a bad battery with loose plates can do it. Try sitting on the ground and turn things on and off to see if you can isolate the circuit.
No echos during a storm means something is broken (antenna or receiver).
