We use a lot of those charts in diagnosing engine problems and getting engines set up correctly and we use quite a few in the class as teaching vehicles.
The EGView software is quite good.
(I didn't look at the detail of that one, so I can't comment on the detonation issue, but it probably wasn't.)

Wow, hadn't seen that ad. Did you notice the CHT spike to the left of the superimposed instrument? Looks like they spiked over 450 F very quickly. Possible detonation episode??? Ouch. CHT's did come down nicely though after the pilot went LOP.
